National senior netball team Head Coach Jermaine Allison-McCracken has reiterated that her focus remains on preparing the Jamaican unit for its upcoming three-test series against the Barbados national senior netball team.

This follows a decision on Wednesday to suspend three members of the Jamaica team — goal attack Shanice Beckford and midcourt players Khadijah Williams and Nicole Dixon.“I have a vision; I know I what I have to do,” she said in reference to the situation.“I did what I had to do and now I’m preparing to meet the challenge of the Barbados competition. Barbados is coming up, we’re preparing for that and we’re looking forward to that,” she continued.“I want to focus on that and just support my president in meeting the challenges that Netball Jamaica (NJ) faces, and my condolences go out to her and her family at this time.”Allison-McCracken’s latter comments relate to the passing of the mother of Netball Jamaica’s president, Dr Paula Daley-Morris.Daley-Morris is off the island and was busy making arrangements to return, given the tragedy affecting her family.In the meantime, the Sunshine Girls head coach said her decision was supported by members of NJ’s board.She said: “I’ve mentioned what I needed to the members of the board and I’ve been given their full support.”One board member, Communications Director Wayne Lewis, was on record stating his support for the actions taken by the national senior team’s head coach.Lewis, a former national cricketer, said: “I don’t know what the circumstances are, but the coach is fully responsible and in charge of the preparation of the team.“If she is not getting cooperation and there is indiscipline within the team and she sees fit to make a decision like that, then I have no option but to support the coach and her decision,” he added.
