Accountant General’s Dept to resume full service at new location today
The Accountant General’s Department (AGD) will finalise its relocation from Public Building West to the Oceana Building at 2-4 Church Street in downtown Kingston by June 1.
To accommodate the move, the AGD was closed to the public Monday, while limited services was offered from the new location yesterday. Full service will resume on todayThe closure disrupted some normal customer services. However, it did not disrupt the operations of the Consolidated Fund.Members of the public were asked to contact the AGD at 922-8320-7, send an email to info@treasury.gov.jm or visit the website: www.treasury.gov.jm.Speaking at a JIS ‘Think Tank’ in March, Accountant General Carlene Murdock said the move was necessary as the old location was no longer suitable for the expanding role of the department.“Where we were, we don’t have the infrastructure that is necessary to move us to where we want to go as a modernised department,” said Murdock.
