Jammin’ with Toyota Jamaica
Toyota Jamaica’s 4×4 Club (TJAM4x4) will host their first event for the year on Sunday, leaving from their Old Hope Road, St Andrew location at 9:00 am. The event, as per usual, is only open to drivers of Toyota 4×4 vehicles.
“We’re hoping for another large turnout; however we’re just watching the weather, given what happened last weekend,” Howard Foster, sales and marketing manager — Toyota Jamaica, told Jamaica Observer’s Auto magazine.
Foster explained that the route will take Toyota off-road enthusiasts on a near two-hour trek to Mount Charles in the hills of St Andrew. He added that the while there will be some challenge, the roads chosen won’t present damage to participating vehicles and rookie drivers.
“It’s just below Mavis Bank and we’ve found the perfect spot with a river, so attendees should pack their swimming trunks and bring their kids for a fun day out,” said Foster.
Despite its vehicle ownership restriction, TJAM 4×4 Club continues to be one of the more active off-road entities on the island, with their last event in 2016 attracting just over 20 vehicles and a crowd of 68.
