Smirnoff Tropical Village to thrill
Organisers of Smirnoff Tropical Village say it will be the premier weekend event for summer 2017, targeting patrons both locally and internationally. The event, which will take place in Negril on July 28 — August 1, will feature eight events over a five-day period.
“We aimed at bringing out the demographics of socialites and partygoers. The different events cater to different lifestyles and party preferences, as they create the typical setting and ambiance that is craved by local and international patrons,” said Smirnoff Tropical Village’s PR and marketing executive Shavelle Mayler.
Mayler was speaking at the launch held on Wednesday at Red Stripe’s headquarters on Spanish Town Road in Kingston.
Mayler said, in addition to bringing vibes and energy to Negril, Smirnoff Tropical Village will also provide numerous jobs.
“It will put money in a lot of people’s pockets. People will be able to make a hustle from it, so it’s not just about the fun and frolic. We saw the need for something like this in Negril and we will be bringing the excitement to our local people,” she said.
Also speaking at the launch was Red Stripe’s Brand Manager for Spirits Jason Hendricks, who emphasised that the party series’ main focus will be the Jamaican patrons.
“Other party series have become very ‘foreign’, so the aim is to include our local patrons in the fun. All of the events are drink inclusive and we will also be having a breakfast party as a part of the series. Our consumers will be more than happy as it is very affordable to party with us,” he said.
Smirnoff Tropical Village was first held last year in Negril. This year the series will kick off with Smirnoff Village Glow at Chances Beach on July 28, followed by Arctic and Soca Rave on the 29th. The all-inclusive Break of Dawn Breakfast party takes place on July 30, along with Smirnoff Baywatch. On Emanicpation Day, August 1, patrons will hop over to Bourbon Beach for Aqua Eclipse and Red Cup at Chances Beach.
