SELA appoints new permanent secretary
CARACAS, Venezuela — Ambassador Javier Paulinich takes office today as the new Permanent Secretary of the Latin American and Caribbean Economic System (SELA).
SELA is an intergovernmental organisation that brings together 27 countries in the region, for the period 2017-2021.
According to a release from SELA today, Ambassador Paulinich will take over as the highest-ranking authority of SELA, with the purpose of strengthening the positioning of the body in the region and guiding its work according to the current needs of its Member States.
The new permanent secretary was elected at the XII Special Meeting of the Latin American Council of the Latin American and Caribbean Economic System (SELA), held on June 13 in Caracas.
