Crime Stop elects first female chairperson
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The National Crime Prevention Fund, Crime Stop Jamaica, last week elected Sandra Glasgow as the first female chairperson in the organisation’s 28 years of operation.
According to Crime Stop, Glasgow, who succeeds Major General Robert Neish, joined the organisation’s board in 2007 as the CEO of The Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica (PSOJ).
In handing the baton to Glasgow, Neish lauded her long service to the fund and her interest in working with stakeholders to strengthen crime fighting in Jamaica.
Glasgow, who accepted the appointment at a meeting of its Board of Directors, thanked the board for the confidence reposed in her and promised to continue the fine work undertaken by Major General Neish and his predecessor, Peter-John Thwaites.
“I am pleased to be leading the Board at a time when we have stepped up our efforts to creatively engage the public through traditional and social media channels,” she said.
