Wet ‘N’ Wild makes a splash
Thousands of ‘Dreamers’ turned up at the Kool Runnings Adventure Park in Negril on Sunday for the highly anticipated XTreme Wet ‘N’ Wild Mardi Gras.
At 4:00 pm, band attendants and security personnel were busily attending to the growing queues. Members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force and wrecker services worked tirelessly along the Hip Strip to keep the traffic flowing freely.
By 5:00 pm, the venue was filled to capacity. Upon entry, patrons were doused with water and hard-hitting musical selections. Partygoers ran around like excited children with plastic guns, buckets, or whatever container they could find to drench other patrons with water.
Patrons didn’t mind feasting on soggy food or water diluted liquor. Females never fussed about their hair or ‘running’ make-up as they were seen enjoying the water slides, lazy rivers and pools.
The Jamaica Observer caught up with XTreme Wet ‘N’ Wild director Kamal Bankay who said he was pleased with the event’s staging.
“XTreme Wet ‘N’ Wild is by far the pinnacle of entertainment. It continues to exceed expectations and is one of the biggest pool party in the world. I have travelled all over so I can testify that there is no where in the world that deliver an entertainment product like this,” he said.
Female singjays Shensea and Ishawna ignited added to the vibe with captivating performances.
At about 8:00 pm, patrons, some of who were in ‘high spirits’ had began filing out of the venue. Two hours, later it was time for the staging of another Dream Weekend event – World Vibes. The all-black themed event featured jugglings from Tony Matterhorn, Team Shella, DJ Unit and others.
Dream Weekend, which began last Friday, ended yesterday.
