Wayne Wonder on high with Falling
Wayne Wonder is on a musical high with his latest single Falling .
The track, produced by Tony Kelly, was released last month.
“Being consistent within the music industry takes hard work. I have been blessed with a talent that I am able to utilise in a positive way to bring forth good music. I respect all my supporters that have helped to keep my work relevant over the years,” said Wayne Wonder.
Falling has an accompanying video.
“The video was shot in Kingston and directed by Parpworth. I shot the video in Jamaica to maintain that authentic Caribbean flavour that the rest of the world craves. My fan base is much diversified and composing tracks that appeal to each demographic takes hard work. This one is a sure hit,” he said.
The singer said he is putting some promotional muscle behind Falling.
“My team and I are focused on bringing this single to the top. We put together a very effective marketing plan and we are seeing positive results. The single has already made its way on to the European market and we are working tirelessly to dominate the Caribbean reggae scene. I’m promoting this single while touring because the work never ends. Currently, I have shows lined up in France and Canada,” he said.
Wayne Wonder (given name Von Wayne Charles) spent his formative years in East Kingston. He got his break as a dancehall singer doing cover versions of American hit songs.
His collaboration with producers Donovan Germain and Kelly spawned several hits. The singer’s career, however, got an international break when he signed to Atlantic Records and released the smash single No Letting Go from the album No Holding Back. Done on the Diwali ‘riddim’, the single reached number 11 in the United States and number three in the United Kingdom.
His other hits includes Bounce Along, Slowly But Surely, and Perfect Proposal.
