Chabano Nkani phases in lastest project
US-BASED reggae singer Chabano Nkani is set to drop his debut album Phases tomorrow.
The album, produced by Isle of Springs Records, contains 13 tracks. It is being distributed by VPAL Music.
The project is led by the first single, Party, which is already gaining some traction on reggae radio stations stateside.
He spoke about the first single Party and the inspiration behind it.
“The inspiration behind the song is really the experience of many ladies in the workplace. Sometimes the working environment can be stressful and going out to party is the only way to relieve the stress that they experience,” he said.
Producer Richard “Shams” Browne worked on two songs: Sorry and Write Your Name Across My Heart (a cover of the Kenny Rogers original).
Musicians who worked on the project include: Browne, Glen Browne, Jubba White (drums), and Robert Browne and Ernie Wilks (guitar).
Born Richard Brown, Chabano has been living in Hartford, Connecticut, for the past decade. Originally from St Andrew, he resided in Christiana, Manchester; Spalding in Clarendon; and Kingston before migrating.
Phases will be available on all digital and streaming platforms including iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, Google Play and Deezer.
