Holness to meet with Chile gov’t
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Prime Minister Andrew Holness will tomorrow hold a series of bilateral engagements with the government of Republic of Chile during a one-day working visit.
Holness left the island today and will return on Thursday.
According to a release from the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM), the prime minister will meet with President of Chile, Michelle Bachelet, to enhance bilateral co-operation between the two countries.
The ministry said he will also explore other areas of co-operation including tourism and business development as he is slated to have dialogue with senior managers and national businessmen of the tourism and hotel industry at the National Chamber of Commerce, Services and Tourism of Chile.
Holness is accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Kamina Johnson Smith, Ambassador of Jamaica to Chile Alison Stone Roofe, as well as the Economic Growth Council and Ambassador Nigel Clarke.
OPM said Minister without portfolio in the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Horace Chang will be in charge of the Government while Holness is away.
