Firearm seized in St Ann, 6 men held

ST ANN, Jamaica— Six men are now in police custody following the seizure of a firearm and ammunition during an operation in Scarborough, Watt Town, St Ann last night.

Reports from the Alexandria police are that about 11:25 pm lawmen were in the area when they signalled the driver of a motorcar with six men aboard to stop.

The driver complied and a search of the vehicle and men were conducted. Closer examination revealed a .38 Smith and Wesson revolver containing a round of ammunition was found under the driver’s seat.

The men were taken into custody; however, their identities are being withheld pending further investigations.
