Table report on probe of Lisa Hanna’s constituency office, G2K urges OCG
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Generation 2000 (G2K) the young professional affiliate of the Jamaica Labour Party is calling on the Contractor General, Dirk Harrison, to provide the nation with a full report on the investigation into constituency office of South East St Ann Member of Parliament Lisa Hanna, regarding the award of Government contracts in the parish.
G2K, in a release today, argued that since the Office of the Contractor General (OCG) began the probe as far back as June 2015, a number of other investigations into other matters that have been completed and reported on.
“Unfortunately the Contractor General has remained as quiet as a church mouse on the Lisa Hanna constituency office investigation.
“We at G2K have taken note of reports and statements that the OCG has made recently about other investigations, which are appreciated. However, we feel that it is in the best interest of the Office of the Contractor General to table the long-awaited report on the investigation into Lisa Hanna’s constituency office, so that any perception of bias can be avoided,” said G2K General Secretary, Oludiad Brown.
In June 2015 staff from the OCG visited Hanna’s constituency office. According to media reports the OCG’s staff questioned a number of people after which files relating to the investigation were confiscated.
“There is a saying that justice delayed is justice denied. The longer the report into the South East St Ann Constituency office is delayed is the longer that justice for the hard-working taxpayers of Jamaica is denied. We wait with bated breath for the tabling of the report, which is now long overdue,” G2K Vice President, Daniella Allen said.
