Despite rain, Kingston shoppers hunt bargain in #TSO2017
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The downpour in Kingston this evening did not appear to deter many shoppers who were out trying to benefit from the discounts on offer as Jamaica Observer Takes Style Out (TSO).
“I’m really just out to take advantage of the sale, I’ll maybe get a shoes and bag for my sister,” said Jessica Morrison a shopper at the Payless Shoe Source in Tropical Plaza.
Kaydean Dawkins, store manager for the branch, said she is expecting a great turn out despite the rain.
Meanwhile, Lee’s Fifth Avenue in the same plaza jazzed up their offering with live Mannequins on display in the store front.
“We decided to do something different by adding the live mannequins and customers love them,” said store manager Marlene Dwyer.
“It really does add an interesting touch and I’m going to take a look around,” said Rachel Webb, who was outside the store.
Lee’s Fifth Avenue also had free popcorn for customers who presented their receipts.
But, it’s not only clothing stores that are offering TSO discounts. Peanut vendor, Derrick Hyman says he’s using the sale as an opportunity to give customers a discount and promote his nut business.
