Kashu, Hype Type team up
Dancehall artiste Kashu has teamed up with Florida-based deejay Hype Type for the song Beat Dem Bad. The song, which was released earlier this week, is produced by Arkitechz Production. It is featured on the White Rum rhythm.
According to Hype Type, all concerned are pleased with the feedback the song has received.
“I’m pleased with the support that this song is getting in Florida and other parts of the US. Now that it is released I’m going to start to push it at home. My team will leave no stone unturned. We want to make it into a hit,” Hype Type explained.
“This song has the potential to be a major hit. Since I returned to the island, I have been pushing it hard in the streets, and it’s getting a lot of support from disc jocks,” said Kashu.
Beat Dem Bad is available on iTunes and several other leading online music platforms including Amazon and Spotify.
Kashu, whose given name is Darren Williams, launched his career in 2001 when he won the nationally televised Reggae Trail competition. Hype Type, whose real name is Joseph Henry, was also a finalist in the Reggae Trail competition that same year.
Dillgin completes promo run
Recording artiste Dillgin, who is based in California, was recently in the island for a promotional run.
“Jamaica is my homeland, and I love to come home as often as possible. It’s always a pleasure to visit yaad,” the singer shared.
While here, Dillgin appeared on popular radio and television programmes.
“The aim of the promotional run was to increase the popularity of my latest single Still a Work and to promote my new single called Heart of Mine. The reception from the media houses was good and the response from the fans has been overwhelming,” said Dillgin.
Dillgin also performed at a number of events including Stone Love’s popular Weddy Weddy and the monthly concert which is held for inmates at the St Catherine Adult Correctional Centre in Spanish Town.
“The vibes at Weddy Weddy was crazy; I couldn’t even sing out my songs, the forwards were loud. It was the same thing in Spanish Town, everywhere I performed I received a lot of love,” he said.
