Cops seize shipment of cocaine worth over $24m
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Members of the Jamaica Customs Contraband Enforcement Team (CET) and officers from the Narcotics Division of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) on Friday seized a shipment of cocaine with an estimated street value of $24,167,000 at the Port of Kingston.
A release from the Jamaica Customs Agency (JCA) today, said the cocaine was found concealed in a transshipment container at the port.
No arrest was made in relation to the seizure.
Reports are that during routine operations the team was alerted to the container and a field test confirmed the white powder in the packages to be cocaine.
According to the release, the matter is currently being investigated by the Border Protection Division of the Jamaica Customs Agency and the police.
