‘Pretty Science’ accepts SMART board
Grade four students of Sts Peter and Paul Preparatory Kerissa McPherson and Justyne Alexander, who called themselves ‘Pretty Science’ for the first SmartKids Egg Drop Competition earlier this year, recently received a SMART whiteboard that was part of their prize.
Team ‘Pretty Science’ proved that science and engineering are not just for boys when their innovation and application of physics in building a compact and lightweight device that prevented a large uncooked Smart Egg from breaking as it fell from an initial height of 6 feet, to as high as 20 feet, gave them the win. They were awarded the grand prize of a SMART whiteboard, US$100 Amazon gift cards, first-place trophies and one year’s supply of Smart eggs.
Communication Coordinator of the CB Group Kristi-Leigh Wilson made the presentation to the girls and their vice-principal Claudia Nugent in the presence of several teachers and students of the school’s science club two weeks ago.
