Section of Bustamante Highway to be closed tomorrow
CLARENDON, Jamaica — The National Works Agency (NWA) is advising motorists that a section of the Bustamante Highway in Clarendon will be closed between 9:00 am and 7:00 pm tomorrow.
The closure is to facilitate the replacement of a broken culvert in the east bound lane of the highway in the vicinity of the Foga Road exit.
According to communication and customer services manager at the NWA, Stephen Shaw, the existing culvert will be replaced by a high density plastic pipe to increase the capacity of the drain.
He said the earth drains on either side of the culvert will be cleaned and headwalls constructed.
During the period of the works, motorists travelling in a westerly direction towards Mandeville will be directed onto Glenmuir Road then onto Manchester Avenue towards Foga Road or straight through to Four Paths. The reverse obtains for motorists travelling towards Kingston.
The NWA has also advised motorists and pedestrians to obey all posted warning signs and the instructions of flag persons.
