‘Time to step up or shut up’, says PNP’s Alexis
ST MARY, Jamaica — People’s National Party’s (PNP) candidate fo St Mary South Eastern, Dr Shane Alexis, insists that Jamaica can’t be fixed from one’s living room and that it’s time for young people to make a contribution to the development of the country.
Alexis, who was a short while ago nominated as the party’s representative, stated that it is “time to step up or shut up,” as he believes it can be an exciting time where young professionals come forward to serve not only in the political arena but at the community level.
“…Whether it’s rotary, school, your community, it doesn’t really matter but the point is we have to get involved if we want change. We can’t wait on someone else to make the changes for us,” Alexis charged.
He also expressed hope that his political journey would be a call to young Jamaicans to step forward as there is “adequate time and space for them in the PNP”.
