By-election candidates to sign agreement on political conduct
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Office of the Political Ombudsman says candidates for the three upcoming by-elections are expected to affirm their commitment to good governance and to fair campaigning by signing the Agreement and Declaration on Political Conduct tomorrow.
According to a release this afternoon, candidates for the constituencies of St Andrew South West, the Jamaica Labour Party’s (JLP) Dane Dennis and the People’s National Party’s (PNP) Mark Golding; and St Andrew South, PNP’s Dr Angela Brown Burke and JLP’s Victor Hyde; will sign the political conduct agreement at the Office of the Political Ombudsman on 85A Duke Street in Kingston at 8:30 am.
Meanwhile, the candidates for St Mary South East PNP’s Dr Shane Alexis and JLP’s Dr Norman Dunn will sign at the St Theresa’s Catholic Church in Annotto Bay, St Mary at 2:00 pm.
Expected to be in attendance include the Custos for both parishes, campaign manager for each candidate, General Secretary for both political parties, the Jamaica Constabulary Force liason officers and Political Ombudsman Donna Parchment Brown.
