Denham Town residents welcome ZOSO
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Denham Town residents this morning welcomed the declaration of the area as a Zone of Special Operation.
“It will make sense; the place will come under order. It will make a lot of changes,” one resident, Omar Pennycooke told OBSERVER ONLINE as he sat on a bench on Regent Street.
Another, who gave his name as Lito shared similar sentiments as he sat in his motor vehicle at the entrance to Regent Street. Generally, residents of the inner city community voiced appreciation if the crime prevention initiative.
The community was declared a ZOSO by Prime Minister Andrew Holness at a press conference at Jamaica House to update the country on the government’s crime initiative.
The police imposed a curfew in the area early this morning.
