Schoolboy footballers warned against removing jerseys during matches
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Jamaica Football Federation is cautioning players in schoolboy football competitions against what it describes as the “growing trend” of players removing jerseys in the moment of celebration of goals or victory.
JFF, in a release today commending all players and administrators who are part of the current schoolboy competitions, noted that this practice is condemned strongly by the FIFA and is one that will be considered as negative in consideration of players to the national program.
The federation also noted that the competition is not only to provide entertainment for football fans but also helps to develop players.
“We ask that administrators, managers and coaches in particular be absolutely firm with players to desist from this action and other actions and attitudes that will not only bring the game into disrepute but also limit their growth in the game,” said JFF.
