Pedestrian bridge at Wolmers Girls’ reopens after $8.7-m repair
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Repairs to the pedestrian bridge on Marescaux Road, St Andrew in the vicinity of the Wolmers Girls’ School, has been completed at a cost of $8.7 million.
The bridge, which is now open, was closed in late September for repairs that were funded by the Road Maintenance Fund.
Manager of communication and customer services at the National Works Agency (NWA), Stephen Shaw, said an assessment of the structure earlier this year, revealed that there were worn parts that needed to be repaired or replaced.
Rehabilitative works commenced on the bridge in September and was completed at the end of October.
