IOC probes social media video of police, civilian confrontation
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The police says the Inspectorate of Constabulary (IOC) has launched an investigation into an video being circulated on social media showing a policeman was in a confrontation with a member of the public.
“The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) takes seriously all allegations of abuse by any of its members and is making it clear that there is no place for unprofessional conduct within the organisation.
“The Police Public Interaction Policy clearly guides all police interactions with the public and any deviation from this constitutes a breach of discipline,” said the JCF’s Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) in a press release late yesterday.
It further assured that the JCF is committed to delivering professional services to members of the public as it seeks to create safer communities.
