Vows: A Bridal Brunch by Petals & Promises

For many enagaged couples, planning the ideal wedding can be frustrating. So many thoughts to put to life but no one to guide or give the answers you seek: the kind of dress to buy, the perfect décor or even the photographer to hire. Thankfully, the bridal boutique Petals and Promises heard and answered these questions on the East Lawns of Devon House on Sunday, November 5, during the third staging of its bridal brunch and celebration of Kingston Bridal Week.

Romance was in the air as soon-to-be-weds alongside members of their bridal parties attended the wedding forum hosted by Petals and Promises and its associate partners, and were afforded the opportunity to appease their pre-wedding anxieties and tensions.

“Think of it as a big bridal shower,” Kara-Ann Anderson, creative director of Petals and Promises, who also serves as a director for Kingston Bridal Week, told Vows . Indeed, the event, which hosted over 40 couples, was an interactive forum in which brides-and-grooms-to-be could mingle, get advice and answers to frequently asked questions from experts. The group engaged in wedding-themed discussions, including the importance of a wedding planner, how to budget for the wedding, catering services, and wedding photography. The excitement escalated with fun activities and spot prizes.

An excited bride-to-be and dentist Francine Pryce found the event very informative. “It really gave my fiancée and me an insight on how much planning goes into a wedding,” she told Vows. “Coming here convinced me that I really needed a wedding planner who will bring the thoughts in my head to life.”

With the largest turnout for the expo to date, managing director for Petals and Promises Marguerite Anderson was not only excited to host the event, but also pleased about the attendance. Petals and Promises is a full-service wedding boutique, event planning and design firm located at 5 Bedford Park Avenue, Kingston 10.
