Mansingh resigns as Windies chief medic
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Cricket West Indies (CWI) chief medical officer Dr Akshai Mansingh has resigned with immediate effect due to an “untenable” working relationship with the board.
“It was becoming untenable to work,” Dr Mansingh, an orthopaedic surgeon based in Jamaica, told OBSERVER ONLINE this afternoon.
“I felt the prudent thing to do was to resign,” he added.
OBSERVER ONLINE understands that the relationship between the CWI, presided over by Jamaican Whycliffe “Dave” Cameron, and some members of the Dr Donovan Bennett-chaired medical panel, had been deteriorating for some time.
