Dominican Republic president to visit Monday
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Government of Jamaica will host President of the Dominican Republic Danilo Medina Sánchez when he arrives on island Monday for a state visit.
Upon his arrival, Medina will be welcomed by a 21 gun salute. He is slated to participate in a host of activities including a floral tribute at the National Heroes Park.
He will also have robust discussions with the government, led by Prime Minister Andrew Holness, on bilateral, regional and multilateral issues.
The meeting is aimed at forging deeper ties between both countries.
Medina, Dominican Republic’s 53rd president, will attend a state luncheon hosted by Governor General Sir Patrick Allen at King’s House. At the luncheon he will receive a national honour.
Holness will also be presented with state honours from the Dominican Republic by Medina.
Medina will then depart Kingston for Montego Bay where he will participate in the United Nations World Tourism Organization conference to be held November 27-29 at the Montego Bay Convention Centre.
