In June, American group The Dubplates peaked at number four on the Billboard Reggae Album c hart with Box Full of Steel . The set recently re-entered the chart and this week takes over the number one spot.

Box Full of Steel was released on June 23. The album was written, arranged, engineered, recorded, mixed and mastered by Big Hair and Brady “Daddy Brady” Waggoner. Produced on Daddy Brady’s Chalicetown Records, it draws from eclectic influences such as reggae, dancehall, and Afro-funk. It is distributed worldwide by VPAL Music.

There are collaborations with King Yellowman, Junior Reid, Mix Master Mike (of The Beastie Boys), Future Fambo, Elephant Man and Zumjay.

This week’s highest new entry is the compilation Strictly The Best Volume 57 which enters at number five. The dancehall edition of the popular series features 14 tracks including F ling Yuh Shoulda by Ding Dong, Fire by Aidonia, 21 by Dexta Daps, Pretty Girl Team from Alkaline and Live Blanket by Mavado. There are also songs from RDX, Masicka and Beenie Man.

Damian Marley’s Grammy-nominated Stony Hill moves up to number two, while SOJA’s former chart-topper Poetry in Motion slips to number three.

Holding the number four spot is the compilation Strictly The Best Volume 56, while Marching Orders by The Green, which spent two weeks at number one, falls to number six.

Havana Meets Kingston by Mista Savona holds firm at number seven, while Heavy is The Head by Tropedelic is number eight.

The Grammy-nominated Chronology by Chronixx falls to number nine. More to Say Versis by The Frightnrs completes the Top 10.
