1. Ian Boyne out of ICU and recovering well
Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Jamaica Information Service (JIS), Ian Boyne is now out of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the University Hospital of the West Indies and is recuperating well in the Tony Thwaites Wing.
2. Over 100 illegal firearms destined for Jamaica seized in Florida
A major multi-agency transnational investigation is now underway by the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) and their United States law enforcement counterparts, following the seizure of over 100 illegal firearms.
3. CARICOM report to be tabled in the House in January
Prime Minister, Andrew Holness says the final report from the CARICOM Review Commission will be brought to Parliament in January 2018.
4. Wyclef, Sting to headline Shaggy show
British singer, songwriter and actor Sting and American hip hop act Wyclef are the headliners for the 2018 staging of the biennial charity event Shaggy & Friends. The diamond-selling reggae artiste made the announcement a short while ago during a briefing to launch the event to be held on the grounds of Jamaica House in St Andrew on Saturday, January 6.
5. Govt, CHEC sign US$19 million contract for widening of Constant Spring Road
Prime Minister Andrew Holness and China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC) yesterday signed a contract at Jamaica House for the Constant Spring Road corridor to be improved to a four-lane roadway.
6. PAAC deliberating first supplementary estimates
Members of the Public Administration and Appropriations Committee (PAAC) are currently deliberating the First Supplementary Estimates for the 2017/18 financial year.

8. Security ministry reports millions lost to cybercrime attacks
The Cybercrimes Unit of the Jamaica Constabulary Force has reported that Jamaica lost US$100 million to cybercrimes in 2016, with 200 such cases reported.
9. NEPA urging business to renew environmental permits
The National Environment and Planning Agency (NEPA) and the Natural Resources Conservation Authority (NRCA) are now urging business owners to regularise their environmental licenses and permits.
10. Argentina, Jamaica exploring collaboration on agriculture
Jamaica’s agriculture ministry and the Government of Argentina are discussing potential areas of cooperation particularly as regards the redevelopment of the island’s livestock industry.
