UPDATE: Members of the Uchence Wilson-led gang remanded

KINGSTON, Jamaica — The police are reporting that all except one of the 26 members of the Uchence Wilson led gang were remanded into custody until January 10, 2018, when the appeared in the Supreme Court today.  

Tashina Beckford, a member of the gang, was granted bail, as she had recently given birth.

The gang was dismantled during operations conducted in St Catherine, Clarendon and the Corporate Area on Saturday, December 2 in which 15 key players were taken into custody.

An additional 11 people were subsequently arrested, making the total to 26 – which include three females and two members from the police force.

All 26 suspects were charged with breaches of the Criminal Justice Suppression of Criminal Organisations Act (Anti-Gang Legislation) to include an additional police officer. The list of charges are as follows:

1. Leadership of a criminal organisation

• Uchence Wilson o/c “Terrence”, o/c “Terron”   

• Fitz Roy Scott o/c “Scotty”, o/c “Con Dog” o/c “Clarks Man”  

2. Being a part of a criminal organisation

• Stephenson Bennett o/c “Slim”,  

• Machel Goulbourne,                   

• Michael  Lamont o/c “Judge”       

• Derron Taylor o/c “Devin”         

3. Facilitating serious offence by criminal organisation

• Fitzroy Scott (13 Counts)                                             

• Uchence Wilson (15 Counts)                                      

• Derron Taylor (11 Counts)                                         

• Lanworth Geohagen o/c ‘Zeeks’     

• Machel Goulbourne (6 Counts)                                

• Michael Lamont (15 Counts)                                        

• Stephenson Bennett (11 Counts)                                   

• Odeene Smith o/c Brinks                       

• Keron Walters o/c Tall Man (2 Counts)                   

• Tevin Khani o/c Tev (2 Counts)
