Whew! Beaches Turks and Caicos is back!
THE Turks and Caicos Islands (TCI) breathed a collective sigh of relief last Thursday when the Beaches TCI resort reopened its rooms to tourists, having been forced to close in September after category five hurricanes Irma and Maria hit the island. Parts of the local economy ground to a halt during the closure.
To mark the happy occasion, Gordon ‘Butch’ Stewart, the Sandals Resorts International chairman, hosted a luncheon the following day for the movers and shakers in TCI society. Special guest was Jamaica’s Prime Minister Andrew Holness, who was undoubtedly the man at the centre of attraction.
