Anchovy man murdered, young son shot and injured
ST JAMES, Jamaica — A 43-year-old man was shot dead while his son escaped with injuries after they were pounced upon by unknown assailants while driving through the Mount Carey district in Anchovy, St James yesterday.
The dead man has since been identified as Wayne Wynter of Flankers and Granville in the parish.
Reports are that about 12:10 pm, a team of officers responded to the alerts of citizens who reported hearing explosions.
On arrival, Wynter was seen with gunshot wounds, slumped over the steering wheel of the car and the boy with gunshot wounds.
They were both taken to the hospital where Wynter was pronounced dead and the child admitted. A Glock 9mm pistol and seven 9mm cartridges were also taken from the scene.
Investigations continue.
