Harmony bag second KO title of season
BOUNTY HALL, Trelawny — Harmony FC won their second knock out title of the season after beating Holland United 3-1 in the final of the Trelawny Football Association Victor Wright KO at Bounty Hall playground on Wednesday.
Omar Williams scored a brace in a two-minute span in the first half to lead Harmony FC to the title after they had won the President’s Cup KO earlier.
They, however, played the last 26 minutes of the game with 10 players after Trevoy Harrison was sent off by referee Daneon Parchment after picking up his second yellow card.
After two misses from close range Romaine Lewis, the burly striker, was hacked down in the penalty box in the 36th minute and Williams converted the penalty skick.
He made it 2-0 two minutes later when he powered home the ball from close range, beating goalkeeper Akeem Hudson at his near left post.
With Harmony FC down to 10 players, Holland United made use of the extra man and Roniel Cole pulled a goal back in the 76th minute when he punched home a ball from a melee on the left side of the penalty area.
Ricardo Reid, however, restored Harmony FC’s two-goal advantage on the 76th minute when he controlled the ball on the right side, got by two defenders and then curled the ball high into the far corner of the goal.
