CAL employee arrested after gun seizure in T&T was not on duty
PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad — Caribbean Airlines (CAL) has advised that an employee who was arrested after a seizure of firearm and several rounds of ammunition on Sunday was not on-duty at the time.
“The individual was not on active duty at the time of the arrest,” stated the airline in a release this morning.
According to CAL, the advisory comes amidst recent reports from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service that a 31-year-old male flight attendant, who works with Caribbean Airlines, was arrested during an anticrime exercise, in Sangre Grande on December 31.
Officers also reported finding a pistol and a quantity of ammunition in his vehicle.
