JFF purchases coaster bus
The Jamaica Football Federation (JFF), with help from the FIFA FORWARD programme and from its own resources, has purchased a 2018 Coaster bus to assist the federation with the transportation of its national teams, as well as the work of the secretariat.
The purchase of the vehicle will significantly reduce expenses that the federation has been carrying over the years for transportation and, by extension, aim to make a dent in the federation’s accumulated debt.
The JFF over the recent many years has paid for all airport transfers as well as movement of its national teams to all training sessions. The JFF has also had to cover transportation expenses for visiting teams for World Cup qualifiers; international friendly games; tournaments and practice games at any level.
President of the JFF Michael Ricketts outlined the significance of the purchase.
“The JFF has decided to purchase this coaster… during our campaign we thought that it was very prudent with regard to our spending. When we did an audit of what our expenses have been as it relates to the hiring of buses we thought that the right thing to have done was to purchase a bus for the purpose of the Jamaica Football Federation and its 12 units.
“One bus is probably not enough so the work will continue and we will be soliciting more support from some of our embassies and we are in the process of having negotiations to support our travelling expenses,” he said.
