More landslides in St Mary; motorists cautioned
ST MARY, Jamaica — The police have advised that there is a landslide on the Castleton main road in the vicinity of Junction in St Mary, as a result of the inclement weather.
Motorists who are travelling from Kingston in the direction of St Mary are being urged to proceed with caution as a section of the roadway has been reduced to a single lane.
The police said they are currently mobilising equipment to clear the area.
St Mary, St Ann, Portland and Trelawny have been suffering from persistent heavy rains since the weekend, which is due to a stationary front across the central Caribbean.
The Meteorological Service this evening discontinued the flash flood warning for the above-mentioned parishes and issued a flash flood watch for all parishes until 5:00 am tomorrow.
