UPDATE: Quallo denies that he is resigning
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Police Commissioner George Quallo has denied that he is leaving the job.
Quallo’s denial was aired on radio shortly after OBSERVER ONLINE reported a National Security Ministry source as saying that he was told that it was time for him to leave during his meeting this morning with National Security Minister Robert Montague.
The commissioner left that meeting for another with the Police Service Commission, the oversight parliamentary body of the police force.
It is understood that Quallo will continue to serve until his retirement in August.
