St Thomas teacher charged with having sex with minor

ST THOMAS, Jamaica — The police are reporting that a St Thomas teacher was yesterday arrested and charged with having sexual intercourse with a person under 16 years old.

Reports from agents at the Centre for Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA) are that the man, who teaches the complainant, is accused of convincing the child to engage him in sexual activities on more than one occasions.

He is scheduled to appear before the St Thomas Parish Court on Wednesday, January 24 to answer to the charges.

The police said his name is currently being withheld to facilitate further investigations.
