Montego Bay Boys Club seek revenge against Harmony FC
BOUNTY HALL, Trelawny — Montego Bay Boys Club will be on a mission of revenge today when they take on promoted Harmony FC in their second-round game in the Jamaica Football Federation Western Confederation/Charley’s JB Rum Super League at Bounty Hall, set to start at 3:00 pm.
Harmony FC had edged Boys Club 1-0 at the UDC field in Montego Bay on the opening day, on their return to the Super League and the Zone One game is the only one scheduled for today with two more games set for Tuesday. Zone One leaders Reggae Youths will face an improved Hopewell United side at the UDC field in Montego Bay, while Beaches Negril and Catherine Hall FC will meet at Little London High.
On paper Harmony FC would appear to have the advantage, playing at home and in second place to Boys Club’s last place with a gap of four points.
However, Harmony FC are yet to earn a point at home, losing both Super League games played at Bounty Hall this season, beaten by Hopewell United and Reggae Youths.
Montego Bay Boys Club went all the way to the final last season, but got off to a dreadful start, losing their first four games before earning their first win, edging Hopewell United 2-1 last weekend and will hope to build on that performance today.
Harmony FC managed to beat Boys Club in their first game back in the Super League, but their away form is much better than at home and if they are to stay in contention they must start earning points at home soon.
Despite their disparity in the table, Boys Club have scored more goals than Harmony FC, but it’s the defence that is the breakdown, allowing nine goals, worst in the zone.
One good sign for the Montego Bay Boys Club will be the form of striker Glenroy Williams, who seems to be heating up at the right time and has scored in his team’s last two games and will hope to make it three-straight today.
Romaine Lewis has scored three of Harmony FC’s four goals and he will carry their hopes on his massive frame today, if they are to win their first home game.
