Shenseea is keeping the tracks on her debut reggae EP a surprise until its release this year.

In an interview with the Jamaica Observer the artiste stated that she wants the set out next month.

“I’m looking forward to release it probably in March and I hope it really takes off on the level I want it to go. Reggae is something completely new to me and new to the people I’m going to be releasing it for, so I hope they really accept it,” said Shenseea.

According to the Jiggle Jiggle singer, the EP should feature up to seven tracks and will be produced by Romeich Entertainment.

“We don’t have a name for it yet, but let’s call it Real and True for now because there are a lot of real stuff that I wrote about on it. There are no collabs on it yet though,” she said.

Shenseea scored her big break in October 2016 with the release of Loodi, a collaboration with incarerated deejay Vybz Kartel. The song quickly became an anthem which was awarded the best collaboration at the 2017 Youth View Awards. Shenseea is also known for her other dancehall tracks Whine and Nutten Dem Nuh Have Ova Mi, but explained why she opted to record a reggae EP first.

“People know me as a dancehall artiste but reggae was the one we were supposed to start off with. People were saying ‘Push out with the dancehall first cause her dancehall side sick’ but majority of them haven’t heard me singjay yet. So this EP for me is really heartfelt; they are really true songs, so I hope people can relate to them,” she said.
