Weekly Round-up: Corrupt cops to go… Gunmen invade St Jago High… Russell returns
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Security Minister Robert Montague on Wednesday said the Government has revamped the early retirement scheme for members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) in an effort to rid the organisation of corrupt police officers.
On the crime scene, teachers and students at St Jago High School in Spanish Town, St Catherine, were forced to seek refuge in the school’s auditorium after gunmen ran through the school compound Thursday morning in a bid to escape from the police.
And, in sport, explosive all-rounder Andre Russell returns to action after serving a one-year anti-doping whereabouts ban.
