Another AK47 found in St James
ST JAMES, Jamaica — The security forces operating in the state of public emergency in St James are reporting the seizure of another AK47 and several rounds of ammunition in Salt Spring in the parish.
According to the Constabulary’s Corporate Communications Unit (CCU), lawmen found the weapon and 36 rounds of ammunition when they searched an open lot in the area about 1:40 pm yesterday.
No arrest was made in connection with the find.
This find brings to five, the number of high-powered assault rifles found since the commencement of the state of emergency on January 18.
On Friday, the security forces found a modified M16 rifle, AK47 and 149 rounds of ammunition during an operation in search of wanted men.
