Curfew imposed in August Town
ST ANDREW, Jamaica — A curfew has been imposed in sections of August Town, St Andrew. The curfew began at 6:00 pm yesterday and will remain in effect until 6:00 pm Monday.
The boundaries of the curfew are as follows:
NORTH: Along the intersection of Golding Road with Manley Avenue to Bedward Gardens at the eastern boundary.
SOUTH: Along an imaginary line from the eastern boundary to the intersection of August Town with Manley Avenue.
EAST: Along an imaginary line from the northern boundary to Hope River Bed at the southern boundary.
WEST: Along the imaginary line from the intersection of August Town Road with Manley Avenue to the northern boundary.
During the hours of the curfew, all persons within the boundaries are required to remain within their premises, unless otherwise authorised by the ground commander.
The curfew follows Friday night’s quadruple murder in the area, which, according to residents from Hermitage and surrounding areas, were as a direct result of an ongoing feud over the last two months between gunmen from the adjoining communities of Open Land, Over River and Jungle 12.
