It’s official, DCP Clifford Blake to act as police commissioner
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Strategic Operations portfolio, Clifford Blake will officially act as the commissioner of police as at Thursday, February 1.
This was confirmed early this morning by DCP Blake, who informed that he had received official communication to act in the post of commissioner of police from the Police Service Commission (PSC), the body in law responsible for making appointments in the JCF above the rank of sergeant.
The post of police commissioner became vacant late last week when sitting Commissioner George Quallo announced that he would be leaving the top cop job and proceed on early retirement leave after meeting with members of the PSC.
DCP Blake will act in the post until the PSC appoints a new commissioner.
