Neita-Headley’s bail extended
People’s National Party (PNP) Member of Parliament (MP) for St Catherine North Central Natalie Neita-Headley, who is accused of punching a former co-worker, is to return to the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on April 12.
The MP, who is charged with assault occasioning bodily harm, had her bail extended after she and the complainant agreed to have the matter mediated at the Dispute Resolution Centre.
Both are to return to court in April to inform Acting Senior Magistrate Vaughn Smith about the outcome of the mediation.
Neita-Headley is accused of punching the complainant in the face at the PETCOM head office on Spanish Town Road.
Yesterday, in court, the clerk reported that the medical records on file showed that the complainant was physically hurt by the MP’s punch.
Queen’s Counsel Valerie Neita-Robertson is representing the accused.
Kingston Eastern MP Phillip Paulwell, chairman of the PNP’s Region Three, was also present in Court.
