Building declared safe following bomb scare in St James this morning
KINGSTON, Jamaica — A call centre in Montego Bay, St James was forced to lock down its operations this morning after several anonymous calls were received concerning a bomb being on the building, causing a security scare.
The police in Montego Bay reportedly received information about 11:20 am of a bomb threat at the location on East Street in the parish.
Bomb disposal experts of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) as well as members of the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) and the Fire Brigade responded and over 100 employees in the building were evacuated.
The building and surrounding area were reportedly scoured and nothing unearthed.
The area was subsequently declared safe.
