Dowrich notches hundred before early lunch
TRELAWNY, Jamaica — West Indies A wicketkeeper Shane Dowrich reached his fifth first-class century before a damp spot in and around the bowler’s foothold forced an early lunch on Tuesday’s third day of the first “Test” against England Lions at Trelawny Multi-purpose Stadium.
West Indies A resumed on 232-8 with Dowrich on 90 not out and he made full use of the 16 minutes that were available to reach his hundred. That was all the play possible in the first session as England Lions bowler Toby Roland-Jones expressed concern with the landing area in his delivery stride.
Both Dowrich, on exactly 100, and Jomel Warrican, on 54, are set to resume after the break. Left-arm spinner Jack Leach has taken three wickets so far for the Englishmen.
Earlier, the start of play was delayed by 30 minutes due to morning rain.
Scores: Lions 252 (107.5 ovs); Windies A 243-8 (81 ovs)
