Jessica Hylton-Leckie Wins Best Original Food Photography Award At Prestigious International Event

Here’s an update to our recent publication about internationally renowned Jamaican vegetarian blogger and food photographer Jessica Hylton-Leckie of Jessica in the Kitchen jessicainthekitchen.com

We are now thrilled to report that Hylton-Leckie won The Best Original Photography Award at Shiftcon’s Awards Ceremony in California, USA, recently! ShiftCon is an eco-wellness influencer conference focusing on food, wellness, health, sustainability and platform growth, and with over 400 attendees, is the premier event of its kind. According to the founder of the conference Leah Segedie, hundreds of bloggers were nominated for the different categories. The nominations were then narrowed down by the judges to a top three for each category, making Hylton-Leckie a top three (and, at 26, amongst the youngest) Finalist. The rest was up to the conference attendees, who would now vote on their favourite of the three finalists. Voting would only be open to previous or current ShiftCon attendees ensuring a large but knowledgeable pool of voters. On Saturday February 3, 2018, Jessica in the Kitchen was announced as the winner! She was one the only Jamaican nominee throughout the categories, and one of the only non-American resident finalists at the entire conference.

Hlyton-Leckie does all the food photography and videography for her blog.

In attendance at the Shiftcon Awards ceremony with Hylton-Leckie just outside Los Angeles was her supportive husband Gavin, and proud parents Lance and Judy Hylton.

In her acceptance speech, a happy and beaming Hylton-Leckie thanked the organisers, her family, her readers and everyone who voted for her. She went on further to assure everyone that she would continue to use her platform to not only share recipes but also eco-friendly ways of living to help protect the Earth.
