FROME, Westmoreland – FC Reno and Montego Bay United (MBU) will continue their fight for places in the top six of the Red Striper Premier League this Sunday when they take on teams ranked above them in the point standings in third-round games.

FC Reno will be hoping to rebound from their loss to MBU on Sunday when they host Arnett Gardens at Frome, while MBU will hope to extend their good form away to Tivoli Gardens.

FC Reno slipped out of the top six with their loss at WesPow Park, stuck on 36 points and face second-placed Arnett Gardens, who are on 46 points.

FC Reno, who have clawed their way out of a 10-game winless run to be contenders for a place in the play-offs, have not beaten the defending champions this season, and were battered 0-5 in their first-round game before holding them goalless in the second round.

Playing at home, where they have only lost four of their 14 games played, FC Reno will have the crowd on their side, and hope to atone for their only loss since the start of the third round.

MBU have lost just once in their last five games and will play third-placed Tivoli Gardens who are six points ahead of them, but who have only beaten them once in their last five meetings.

MBU have been on a good run, scoring six goals in their last two games, and Dino Williams — who was kept off the scoresheet on Sunday, but who has scored eight goals in their last seven games —will be gunning to get into double figures in goals.

Williams lead MBU with nine goals scored, but Ronaldo Rodney and Lesly St Fleur have both scored in back-to-back games to help take some of the pressure off the former national striker.

Meanwhile, at the other end of the table, Sandals South Coast will face Waterhouse FC on Monday night with their Premier League lives in their hands.

A loss, and Sandals South Coast would have failed to survive their first season in the Premier League, joining Boys’ Town, whose relegation was confirmed on Sunday with their loss to Portmore United.
