Red-hot Central Kingston face Bull Bay in Jackie Bell KO
The third round of the JN Bank Visa/KSAFA Jackie Bell Knockout gets cracking this afternoon with three games.
In matches tomorrow, three Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL) teams will bow into action.
Despite the best round yet being played over three days, Super League’s Central Kingston will provide lots of entertainment when they enter the Bull Pen to battle unpredictable Bull Bay at 3:30 today.
Having overcome August Town and Meadforest in the two earlier rounds, the Paul Hibbert-guided boys were full of confidence going into the next stage. But a 1-0 reverse to Greenwich Town last Sunday in the Magnum Major League has opened the way for the Neville Bell-instructed Central Kingston to maintain their good form, signalled by a 3-2 win over Pembroke Hall in the Magnum Super League last Saturday.
Again their Ronaldo Henry is proving to be a handful, scoring almost every week.
In the other two Jackie Bell matches, formidable Barbican travel to Rockfort, while Brown’s Town tussle with Rae Town at Vauxhall.
Barbican dismissed Santos 1-0 last Saturday thanks to Malik Douglas and are highly favoured to kick out Rockfort this afternoon as are Brown’s Town over Rae Town.
Tomorrow, three of the seven Premier League teams will take the field when Harbour View welcome Whitfield Town and UWI FC invite troubled Boys’ Town to the Mona Bowl.
Winning four of their last six games in the RSPL, Harbour View have hit form and Whitfield Town’s run in the knockout has just about come to an end, all things being equal.
UWI and Boys’ Town played nine times in the League, with the Mona-based outfit winning seven and drawing one.
Boys’ Town’s only victory was in December 2015 with an Andre Dawson and Rafique Thomas strike in a 2-1 win. Girvon Brown scored for UWI.
