Suspect in Christiana job scam to face court March 21
MANCHESTER, Jamaica — The police are reporting that a woman, who has been in custody since last week in relation to an alleged overseas employment scam that took place in Manchester, was on Tuesday charged.
Keisha Forbes, 38, of a Christiana address, has been charged with three counts of obtaining money by false pretence and conspiracy to defraud.
From information received, Forbes informed a number of persons that she was in a position to provide overseas employment for them.
It is alleged that in December 2017 she collected money from three complainants amounting to $225 000.
The applicants were scheduled to leave the island in February 2018; however, no such arrangements were made.
Forbes is scheduled to appear before the Mandeville Parish Court on Wednesday, March 21.
